SAP Basis Administrator Lead , Kuiper
DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The ideal candidate will lead the team providing the tools and systems needed to design, build, and operate the organization’s services. Candidate will be responsible for owning and managing the infrastructure critical to Project Kuiper including engineering applications, AWS Cloud Infrastructure, and local servers.
Key job responsibilities
- Monitor system performance, ensuring uptime, scalability, and reliability of applications and Infrastructure.
- Analyze current infrastructure capacity and forecast future needs to support organizational growth.
- Day to day support of existing SAP S/4, MES MII, GTS, PO, HANA DB and other SAP applications on AWS cloud infrastructure
- Perform basis administrator configuration activities for new enhancement requests from business and support teams
- Perform SAP application installations and upgrades, Patching activities including OS and DB level
- Setup and enhance system monitoring and alert mechanisms to ensure health of the system
- Work support tickets from end users and product owners
- Troubleshoot issues with jobs scheduling, transport management, and printer administration.
- Perform system refresh, transport management, OSS notes validations and installation.
- Enhance and support HA and DR solutions
- Maintain architecture documentation, runbooks for all infrastructure and networking components
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum development processes, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on test progress, issues, and resolutions.

A day in the life
As an SAP Basis administrator, typical day involves a wide range of activities crucial for maintaining the SAP system infrastructure. Throughout the day, you might find yourself applying security patches, troubleshooting performance issues, planning system upgrades, or performing database maintenance tasks. Additionally, you'll need to balance of proactive maintenance and reactive problem-solving, all while keeping the SAP landscape running efficiently and securely.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of SAP Basis administration experience with at least 3+ years of experience managing SAP systems on AWS.
- Hands-on-experience with HANA, NetWeaver, Fiori, SSO using Kerberos, SAML and SLS.
- Hands-on-experience in Solution Manager with Change Management, Configuration, Wily, Integration and Monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3 , Cloud Watch and Cloud Formation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalents work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible or AWS CDK for Infrastructure Automation.
- Hands-on experience in managing and configuring SAP systems on AWS cloud especially EC2, VPCs, S3, Load Balancers.
- Strong Hands-on experience in the installation, administration of SAP Java Stack systems with NWA, Config tool.
- Experience with Hybrid SAP deployments both in on-premise and cloud.
- Strong project management and leadership skills to handle large scale SAP implementation.
- AWS Certified Solution Architects and SAP Certificated preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
