DESCRIPTION

The Customer Trust team within the Device, Digital and Alexa Support (D2AS) organization is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Business Intelligence Engineering Manager to join a collaborative team that improves the customer experience for millions of Amazon Customers!

In this role, you'll actively contribute to leadership discussions, shape our strategy based on customer behavior insights, and oversee the creation of business analytics dashboards and analyses. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable with uncertainty, and able to think creatively on a large scale. As the Business Intelligence Engineering (BIE) Manager, you should have expertise in designing data warehouse solutions for large organizations across multiple platforms, strong skills in handling very large datasets, and excellent communication abilities to work effectively with business analysts and data engineers. As the business changes, you should be able to learn new things and pivot quickly with a builder and start-up mindset.

Key job responsibilities
- Work closely with the Product Managers, Scientists, Engineers, and Data Engineers on developing BI/analytics solutions to measure the performance of new and existing solutions (including ML models) and surface new opportunities for improvements.
- Build and analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues and own ad-hoc deep dive investigations into existing customer journeys to identify root causes of issues and surface improvement opportunities.
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing data pipelines, metrics, reports, visualizations, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive business decisions.
- Work with the D2AS stakeholders to migrate visualization tools to better adapt applications within the AWS ecosystem. In this effort, you will migrate existing dashboards, test, deploy and train users in the new visualization tool.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of Business Analysts and Business Intelligence Engineers.
- Maintain internal infrastructure to support data requests
- Actively participate in the future of Customer Trust as a valuable member of the Customer Trust Leadership Team

About the team
Customer Trust advocates on behalf of our customers and protects their experience. On this team, you will partner with teams from Executive Escalations to a Digital Command Center to Product Safety and Offensive Content.

The Customer Trust leadership team emphasizes trust and collaborative interactions between members who raise the bar on the customer experience. The team is excited when fresh ideas are brought to the table and everyone is encouraged to come as they are and express their valuable thoughts and opinions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience
- 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with ETL
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience
- 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
