Program Manager, Country Launch Readiness
DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The program manager (PM) will be working on large, complex, and strategic business and technology initiatives. They will develop a common vision and scope, establish timelines, and execute deliverables working across Kuiper and Amazon teams. The PM will own service launch planning, drive country readiness, manage operational readiness, align teams, and track progress for work streams across the globe. In addition, this position will work with marketing, sales, deal management, sales operations, customer operations, and customer support teams to help drive programs, practices, and process readiness for our commercial business in countries around the world.
Key job responsibilities
The role requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, facilitation skills, and the
ability to collaborate across multiple teams. This role will have high visibility and requires executive presence and be comfortable providing updates to SVPs, VPs, and Directors across Amazon teams. The PM has to be structured and flexible at the same time to accommodate learnings as the business scales. They will possess analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned change management leader that can earn trust, thrive in ambiguous situations, understand dependencies, and can bring multiple stakeholders on the journey. They will think strategically but execute tactically from inception to delivery, with demonstrated experience leading business, technology, and people-oriented programs. The PM is right a lot and has strong judgement, supported with data to solve problems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of post-undergraduate and pre-Master's professional or military experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master Degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
