DESCRIPTION
The optimal candidate is an experienced business partner who excels in an entrepreneurial environment, building trust quickly. They have a strong mastery of the range of challenges and scope within a globally-matrixed environment. They have vision, strong leadership and communication skills, and are comfortable with C-Suite executives. This person must be able to dive deep and deliver on behalf of the customer while dealing with ambiguity.
Key job responsibilities
- Leverage professional relationships and develop new strategic contacts to generate business opportunities with potential real estate partners, private sellers, brokers, investment bankers, owners, developers and consultants.
- Identify, anticipate, communicate and capitalize on public policy strategic pillars to drive community planning priorities in concert with Portfolio Optimization and Transactions team.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of assets, strategy, underwriting criteria, processes and systems to optimize site selection process and planning.
- Drive strategic initiatives related to complex entitlement and zoning projects focused on site plan design, entitlement and land use within local municipalities for both existing high profile development projects and new opportunities to improve timelines and save money.
- Forge and maintain deep Customer relationships which will help uncover opportunities in collaboration with Legal, Public Policy/Econ Dev, etc.
- Keep a pulse on external market forces and industry leader analysis, including customer dynamics, to inform strategy development; identify and provide solutions for any areas of misalignment.
- Collaborate across the organization, including the executive leadership team and key stakeholders, to identify key strategic challenges and opportunities linked to market dynamics or customer changes, product performance, competitive intelligence and business needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years experience in development, leasing, community engagement or related field
- Experience leading large projects and/or programs in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders or in a high-growth environment
- Experience delivering cross functional projects, working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
- Excellent writing skills, and proven ability to synthesize complex ideas into well-constructed documents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to drive, direct, and monitor strategic initiatives, prioritizing the most critical challenges to business success
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situation to reduce business risk
- Ability to find creative approaches to defining problems and executing pragmatic and strategic solutions
- Ability to effectivey communicate strategy to all levels and support functional teams to align outcomes to corporate strategy
- Ability to identify key metrics and milestones to measure progress and performance against corporate strategy

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
