Amazon’s Disability & Leave Services (DLS) team in the HR Services organization is building a best-in-class case management program to deliver leave of absence, disability and accommodation services to Amazon employees across the U.S. The Work Wellness Coaching Program provides a highly individualized accommodation coaching service as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It is tailored to the specific identified needs of the employee as defined by the employee and the business. Work Wellness Coaching is a short-term accommodation that helps employees with qualifying disabilities learn, manage, and perform the essential functions of their job.

Role Description:
The Work Wellness Coach (WWC) is a key member of our accommodations team, providing virtual 1:1 coaching services to Amazon employees with ADA-qualifying cognitive and mental health disabilities. A WWC supports employees with disabilities across all business settings that affect executive functioning such as focus, memory, communication, and decision making. A successful WWC works with the employee to identify barriers related to their disability and creates individualized coaching plans to mitigate those barriers that impact job performance. They are a disability coaching subject matter expert, providing consultation and collaborating with internal team members to devise innovative accommodation solutions, and establishing ramp-back accommodation support for employees ending leave. Successful candidates will have expert resource knowledge and superior communication skills with proven success in case management of complex disabilities and influencing across multiple professional settings.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide disability coaching, resource referrals, information, and support to employees with qualifying conditions, as well as relevant supervisors, Human Resources, and other partners to support Amazon’s retention efforts
- Identify individual support needs and barriers related to disability, as well as learning and communication style.
- Creating coaching plans outlining frequency, duration, and scope of coaching activities tailored to individual needs. Support needs could include: improving communication, organization, planning, workload management, etc.
- Problem-solving or role-playing scenarios for stressful work situations and self-advocacy
- Improving work habits, creating systems and routines, and creating tools for handling day-to-day stressors
- Maintain a high level of communication with all stakeholders: Accommodation Consultants, HRBPs, hiring managers, third party vendors, and other members of the Disability and Leave Services team
- Make accommodation recommendations and refer employee to appropriate internal and external resources
- Research relevant training topics and conduct training for DLS team members, HRBP’s, and hiring managers as needed
- Assist in tracking trends related to case types and employment classifications to aid in new program initiatives
Key Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse set of multi-level stakeholders and drive appropriate solutions
- Knowledge of federal and state disability laws and resources
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, time management and priority setting skills
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with all levels of business contacts
- Ability to diagnose problems, identify and drive appropriate solutions
- Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information, including sensitive human resources situations (performance coaching, delivering disciplinary plans, etc.)
- Experience working with Vocational Rehabilitation and government programs
- Experience with coaching or providing direct support to individuals with disabilities

• Provide consultation and supervision to team members on complex and escalated cases
• Maintain a high level of communication with all stakeholders: Accommodation Consultants, HRBPs, hiring managers, third party vendors, and other members of the Disability and Leave Services team
• Make accommodation recommendations and refer employee to appropriate internal and external resources
• Supports the leadership team by demonstrating understanding of customer needs and expectations as well as ensuring performance objectives are met
• Conduct training for DLS team members, HRBP’s, and hiring managers as needed
• Stay current on legislation and national, state and local issues affecting employees with disabilities as well as evidence-based best practices for coaching
• Utilizes case-driven data and metrics to inform on trends and best practices for case management within specific disability types
• Drive process improvements to improve employee experience and program outcomes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in conducting investigative work, including claimant, witness, and target employee interviews, investigative data analysis, and production of investigative documentation
- Experience developing policies and supporting documentation
- Experience managing confidential and sensitive employee information and adherence to strict confidentiality standards

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $57,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $123,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
