Product Manager, GFS PPT

The Production Planning Team (PPT) is comprised of high-powered dynamic teams which are shaping network execution through the development and application of innovative labor planning mechanisms and techniques. Our goal is to improve and enhance the Amazon Fulfilment network to ultimately drive the best customer experience in a reliable and cost-efficient manner that is truly world-class. The Production Planning Team is aggressively innovating in a number of areas aimed at propelling our customers’ experience by ensuring we have robust and optimal labor plans across Australia, Middle-East, Turkey, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Brazil and Europe. To achieve this, the Tech branch of Production Planning Team is expanding to include more Subject Matter Experts, partnering with global software development teams to help synthesize and drive business requirements and manage the change involved in driving us toward a truly hands-off-the-wheel approach to production planning. The PM branch of the Tech team team focuses on improving planning process through automation, forecasting accuracy, and scenario planning. To be a part of this journey, we are looking for individuals with strong analytical / dive deep skills along with product and program management experience in an operations facing environment to understand the impact of high level decisions that drive customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
- Analyze the labor planning process and identify key areas of automation/accuracy improvement
- Partner with the business teams (PPT, operations) to refine and align on requirements
- Collaborate with engineer teams to design a strategy and roadmap for the automation/improvement
- Define clear performance metrics, targets, and success criteria to measure the impact of latency optimization efforts.
- Prioritize and sequence the optimization initiatives based on their potential impact and feasibility.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination and communication to ensure seamless execution of automation/improvement initiatives
- Effectively communicate progress, challenges, learnings and success stories to key stakeholders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of product management experience
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in product, program, or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of SQL and VBA at an advanced level
- Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases and communicating results throughout the organization
