Amazon operates a world-class network of delivery stations across the globe. The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) team is responsible for the acquisition, design, construction, and management of all facilities in the Amazon delivery station network. We are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to join our AMZL Design team and support the expansion of AMZL’s delivery station network worldwide and continuous improvement in safety, associate experience, quality, and cost to serve. In this role, the Senior Operations Engineer will advance the continuous improvement of delivery station design efficiency and effectiveness by benchmarking across AMZL Engineering teams and regions, identifying unnecessary variation, and propagating best in class standards.

Key job responsibilities
Plan and deliver benchmarking projects that objectively measure and improve safety, associate experience, quality, and cost to serve in AMZL delivery station design and engineering, including: project scoping, data collection, data analysis, recommendation development, and presentation of results and thought-provoking recommendations to senior management worldwide.
Analyze data across multiple teams and programs and build authoritative reports that present data-backed recommendations.
Partner with senior business leaders across the company in developing and tracking closure on actionable findings.
Design and facilitate cross-functional team workshops/Kaizens using LEAN methodologies to document existing systems and processes and develop scalable and sustainable solutions.
Provide process expertise on delivery station engineering design including material flow, labor placement, conveyors, equipment, operations modules, packaging profiles, physical building and site layout components.
Contribute to a culture of standardization using best practice sharing with European (EU) and Worldwide (WW) counterparts.
Implement mechanisms to increase scale, speed, and quality of benchmarking projects within the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or equivalent field
- 8+ years of experience directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects
- 8+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation
- Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
- Experience in Logistics, Distribution or Fulfillment processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field
- Operations Management/Distribution Center experience with direct management or responsibility for material handling, automation, or other technical projects
- Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet programs
- Experience with design and/or implementation automation solutions, such as Conveyors, Sorters, high speed manufacturing and packaging lines, Robotic work cells
- Proven technical leadership for industrial engineering projects or program

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
