Corporate Counsel, AI/ML
DESCRIPTION
Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to support artificial intelligence (AI) regulatory compliance for our Worldwide Operations (WW Ops) products and programs. You will support our rapidly growing and evolving WW Ops businesses as they innovate with cutting edge AI and Machine Learning (ML) technology to deliver for our customers.
In this role, you will serve as primary AI/ML regulatory counsel for WW Ops, and will work directly with public policy, business, and legal teams to develop and implement a compliance strategy in response to new and existing laws. Your duties will include: analyzing proposed AI laws, regulations, and guidance and providing feedback on legal and business risks, developing external positions on responsible use of AI and AI compliance and advising on cutting edge regulatory, responsible AI, and compliance issues across the development and deployment of AI systems in WW Ops.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience with AI, technology, and/or regulatory compliance strategy
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
