Our team is currently working on a new experience that will shape the future of shopping and are seeking a talented Front End Engineer to lead and drive the development of this new feature.

As a front end developer in this role, you will have the opportunity to design and lead the development of a unique and engaging feature for millions of customers. You will play an active role in building quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon. We are seeking an experienced Front End Engineer who is proficient at a variety of skills, to enable a ‘first of its kind’ next generation AI application. This is a green field project and you will be the first front end engineer hired. As such you will have the opportunity to influence the technology choices, frameworks and methodologies used.


Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather and comprehend project requirements.
- Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team.
- You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Applied Scientists.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
