We are looking for a Sr Compensation Consultant to support the Entertainment organization, inclusive of Prime Video & MGM Studios, Amazon Music, Amazon Games, Wondery, Twitch and Audible. This role will be responsible for supporting the compensation needs of the Entertainment organization through both analytical and consultant services. The incumbent will work directly with People eXperience and Technology (PXT) partners and management to achieve central objectives and provide hands-on assistance related to all areas of compensation.

The successful candidate will work proactively to identify and address compensation issues. They will act as a trusted partner - advocating for the customer in key corporate compensation initiatives, and evangelizing Amazon’s Total Compensation Philosophy and Strategy to client groups. We are looking for candidates who have the aptitude to understand our complex data, and deliver detailed and accurate products to attract and retain talent.



Key job responsibilities
Specific duties to include:
- Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model potential impact of alternatives and future programs.
- Provide guidance to the business and develop creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate pay levels, base pay, annual pay and stock compensation.
- Work with on a variety of projects including program design, analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs.
- Conduct custom surveys with key Entertainment industry contacts, as needed.
- Partner with regional and global compensation partners on compensation issues, and work on a variety of special compensation projects as needed.
- Consult with business on job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation.
- The position may also be responsible for supporting the strategy, design, policies, guidelines, and operationalization of a key concept critical to the foundation of a specific compensation program. Works to gain alignment with different constituencies and represents a common point of view across multiple stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A Bachelor’s degree is required. Graduate degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in finance, compensation, or consulting with an in-depth knowledge of core compensation terminology and best practices
- General compensation knowledge required
- Strong writing skills
- Microsoft Excel expertise

- Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees within the organization
- Proficiency in Excel Macros; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Power Pivot and Tableau experience is preferred
- Strong problem solving, communication, and presentation skills. The ideal candidate will be well organized and confident to work independently but will be a strong team player
- Ability to create dynamic tools and models to interpret and analyze data. Ability to connect disparate data sources and operationalize tasks. Comfortable with large data sets
- The ability to work independently, take on responsibility, and be nimble in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
- Experience enhancing and/or implementing compensation systems and reporting tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
