The Global Talent Management and Compensation organization is looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join our team. Our team has a direct impact on the lives of millions of Amazonians, helping them achieve work-life harmony and advance in their careers. You will join a team of passionate designers and researchers to create products to address the sheer scale of HR at Amazon, while providing engaging, personal, and human experiences.

We’re looking for a Senior UX Researcher to wake up every day thinking about the employee experience at Amazon. You will be responsible for cultivating and crafting the vision for the next generation product suite. You will own all aspects of user research within the product development lifecycle from study design to communicating results to senior leadership. You're an experienced UX Researcher who continues to learn new techniques and follows trends in the industry. You collaborate closely with designers to identify research opportunities and deliver customer impact. You help establish best practices and provide consultation on methodologies and approaches.

Key job responsibilities
- Conduct independent research on customer experiences.
- Collect and analyze user behavior through CSAT surveys and benchmark studies.
- Partner with UX and product teams to identify research opportunities and prioritize research questions based on analysis of current knowledge, project goals, and risks.
- Consult on which user research methodology approaches work and which don’t.
- Work with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to prioritize and drive effective user experience research.
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
- Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentation.
- Use best practices to create long-term research roadmaps and opportunity frameworks that align to and inform business strategy and goals.

A day in the life
You will independently own and conduct research studies on strategic initiatives for the organization, establish research best practices, and provide guidance to designers facilitating studies in conjunction with their project work. You will work with UX Designers to help guide the design and prototyping of new experiences ahead of the development schedule. You will also regularly interact with product managers to understand and guide the team’s research needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in psychology, cognitive science, Human Centered Interaction (HCI), etc.
- 6+ years of experience gathering data from customers to inform design and business decisions as a user experience researcher, user experience designer, or similar role
- A portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., surveys, user study designs, research reports, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, moderation, analysis, reporting)
- Hands-on experience with remote testing, iterative prototype testing, survey design, and usage of multiple methods within a study
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with designers, product managers, and developers for idea-generation and gathering requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
