Principal, eCommerce & IP Devt, Franchise Development
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a seasoned Principal, eCommerce & IP Devt to join our Franchise team which is responsible for establishing Wondery as a driving force in creating, cultivating, and monetizing podcast IP. The ideal candidate possesses a blend of commercial acumen and creativity, is both strategic and roll-up your sleeves ready, and excited to blaze new trails for Wondery’s portfolio and talent.
This role requires a broad set of expertise as the remit is to spearhead all aspects from strategy to execution for Wondery’s online retail/DTC strategy and presence in order to delight fans, serve our podcast talent/hosts, and drive growth. This seasoned and entrepreneurial executive will report directly to the Chief Brand Officer while actively engaging with internal teams (e.g., Product Development/Design, Content, Marketing, Licensing, Research, Business Planning, Ad Sales, Amazon Shopping) as well as podcast talent, agents, and licensing partners. Helping build out Wondery IP, and differentiate the Company in the fast-moving and fast-growing podcast space will require an entrepreneurial mindset, the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, sound judgment, and the leadership to represent the effort as a whole including building relationships with anyone in the industry.
They will be able to deliver results at both a strategic and tactical level across all aspects of the business, innovate and overcome hurdles, and achieve profitable long-term growth. They will also have strong verbal and written communication skills and work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Key job responsibilities
• Formulate and execute a comprehensive eCommerce plan that will delight fans, exceed talent expectations, and drive growth.
• Oversee WonderyShop.com and www.Amazon.com/wonderykids, and development of new eCommerce storefronts; set roadmaps, identify vendors and collaboration partners, negotiate contracts, determine new product lines/drops, and manage product assortment and inventory.
• Prepare annual forecast, monitor performance, generate reports and analyze data to identify insights to inform strategy and optimize performance.
• Develop pitch decks, annual plans, and quarterly updates to present to talent and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product Development/Design, Content/Production, Marketing and podcast hosts to maximize the opportunity and align eCommerce with broader Company plans.
• Liaise with Marketing/PR and podcasters on promotional plans.
• Listen to and understand the fans, and be obsessed with meeting and exceeding their expectations.
• Have a thorough understanding of the industry, business trends, events, and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 10+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with eCommerce best practices, digital marketing, and online customer behavior and experience
- Experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento), Amazon.com, web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and/or digital marketing (SEO, SEM, digital advertising).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with senior stakeholders and talent, and partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects, proven ability in project management
- A podcast listener or desire to be one.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
