DESCRIPTION

The 'NA Fresh Finance Manager - F3G' serves as a strategic finance partner for the category management team owning center store grocery selection. In this role, you will partner directly with the Category Director to enable financially-informed decision making around product selection, pricing, cost, and vendor negotiations. You will also spearhead ad hoc initiatives and projects aimed at driving net PPM improvement, along with overseeing planning, reporting, and month-end close activities.

This position requires close collaboration with stakeholders across different teams and functions. By integrating financial data and analysis into the decision-making process, you will help optimize profitability and drive sustainable growth across our Fresh retail business.

As the finance lead for this key area, you will have high visibility and exposure to senior leadership across multiple organizations. Given the rapid growth of the grocery business, this role presents significant opportunities to increase your scope of responsibility and elevate your strategic impact over time.

Key job responsibilities
- Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon. These decisions can have global impact.
- Delivers weekly/monthly financial close. Uses financial systems and advanced MSExcel functions to work with large data sets. Outputs plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
- Creates effective business partnerships, manages competing priorities, and provides guidance based on data analysis during unexpected events.
- Drive accountability across category teams by first building and then leading mechanisms to review vendor level performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Create scalable processes and tools leading to successful annual vendor negotiations.
- Communicate findings (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner.
- Participates in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members. Seeks and leverages diverse perspectives in all activities.
- Identifies opportunities to resolve defects proactively. Improves, scales, or simplifies finance tools across teams and organizations.
- Contributes to work life harmony by being a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members as an indicator of operations excellence.

About the team
The Grocery Finance organization is dedicated to shaping the long-term strategy and future of grocery, omni-channel and new physical store formats across Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 7+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
