As SDE II here, you will build, scale, monitor, and optimize systems within AFFS. You will interface with several teams including Retail Systems, Marketplace Systems, Digital Systems, Web services, Financial systems and operations. You will also be part of GenAI based solutions to reduce the time Finance Operations teams and Accountants spend on monthly financial data analysis process. Our mission is to provide a world-class customer experience using scalable and robust software, so the challenges and opportunities span both the business and technical realms.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. They must possess verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment. They need to enjoy working closely with their peers in a group of very smart and talented engineers.
Key job responsibilities
As a software development engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role in the following:
- Work with the team to help drive business decisions
- Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to drive services optimisations, cost, and security.
- Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables
- Write high quality distributed system software
- Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
