AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Our team is seeking an innovative, insightful and result-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our Global Services Strategy and Operations (S&O) organization. The S&O organization is dedicated to working closely with the leadership team to formulate the medium to long term financial and strategic plans for AWS Customers across Global Services. We seek to increase efficiency and profitability by analyzing financial and operational results to better understand business performance and communicate results to senior leadership.

This role supports two Global Services organizations: Go-to-Market/Business Development, and Sovereign Cloud. Including all internal business partners (Finance, Field Operations, Leadership, Product and Program management, etc) and external (Global Services Business Units: ProServe, Training and Certification, Support, Security, etc) stakeholders. Our data products help our customers make critical business decisions that impact revenue and pipeline generation across all industries. This role will build data products from scratch and will maintain these products once launched.

Key job responsibilities
As a BIE, part of your key responsibilities will be:
Interface with stakeholders and business partners to gather data and metrics requirements, translate them into technical specifications and drive analytics projects.
Develop reporting, analytics and decision support to enable the organization leaders and teams to create accountability and mechanisms for operational management.
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Think creatively - we want someone that will extract insights and provide business recommendations.
Own and maintain on-going analytics tools, BI models and visualizations to increase visibility into key measures of business performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field.
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken) within technical and business settings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field.
- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience.
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab.
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
