Data Engineer I
DESCRIPTION

The Data Engineer I role is an integral part of the team responsible for delivering accurate, secure, and timely recruiting data and metrics to our customers across Amazon.
The ideal candidate is passionate about data and analytics, with a strong foundation in data engineering. They are eager to learn and grow, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Data Engineer I will work closely with the wider team to architect, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support secure access to large datasets.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Extract, transform, and load data from a variety of sources using SQL, scripting, and AWS big data technologies.
- Design and implement ETL pipelines and BI solutions.
- Collaborate with business owners, developers, and BI Engineers to explore new data sources and deliver insights.
- Stay up to date with advancements in big data technologies and contribute to pilot projects.
- Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues, contributing to increased autonomy and productivity.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
