Are you passionate about using data to solve complex problems and driving strategic decisions? Amazon Security is seeking a motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our insider risk organization. We work across Amazon to understand, prevent, and mitigate internal risk. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing innovative BI solutions that guide your team and Amazon leadership to proactively address internal risk.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement large-scale, insider-threat focused BI solutions that inform multiple teams' business decisions
- Define and refine data strategies that cross teams, driving our organization's BI architecture
- Deliver BI solutions for complex problems, ensuring they are robust, extensible, and scalable
- Communicate effectively with senior management audiences through documents, reports, dashboards and business reviews.
- Mentor and develop other team members, driving best practices in operational excellence, data modeling, and analysis

A day in the life
In this role, you'll spend most of your time advancing two core objectives: 1) designing and implementing high-visibility (VP, CISO, Chief Security Officer, level) business intelligence solutions and 2) deeply collaborating with upstream and partner teams to influence data architecture to ensure your BI solutions include the right data to tell compelling stories and guide leaders to enact change.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working on cybersecurity and/or information security teams that focus on internal risks
