Sr. Business Intellegence Engineer, Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging

The packaging and sustainable packaging group develops robotic material handling products that increase the safety and efficiency of our fulfillment operations. Our products are deployed across the Amazon Fulfillment Network, automating material flow to reduce operational costs, increase throughput, and enable consistent quality. Our workcells are integrated into broader solutions for storage, packaging, sortation, and transportation of items and packages.
MSP is seeking a Sr. BIE to join a dynamic new data team that provides leadership for concept development, architecture, design and testing of robotics systems and industrial equipment. This is an opportunity to make your mark and shape how the team accesses, utilizes and distributes data that continues to inform critical decision making within the organization. You’ll work closely with Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, Systems Engineers and more.
Key job responsibilities
- Write expert-level SQL that extracts actionable insights from some of the world’s largest datasets
- Dive deep to help drive key business decisions through data insights and improve a wide range of internal products
- Own the design and development of automated solutions for recurrent reporting and in-depth analyses including learning, publishing, and managing our operational business metrics decks
- Drive continuous improvement of our analytical processes by automating, scaling, and simplifying self-service support for our customers
- Invent new ways to explore our data and work with Product Managers to identify opportunities and transform business problems into defined data and reporting requirements
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modelling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of SQL experience
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
