The AWS Data Center Security team is looking for a creative, innovative, results-oriented Sr. Program Manager in the Northern Virginia/Greater Washington D.C area to lead security and security-systems projects and programs in the data center environment. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to a collaborative and productive environment with a strong service-oriented culture among multiple diverse and highly skilled teams of project and program managers. These teams are responsible for the design, installation, and evolution of physical security systems and programs to include intrusion detection, access control/management, CCTV, screening, emergency response, etc.
A successful candidate will have the ability to manage difficult and interdependent projects and program managers with a regional impact. They will be responsible for enabling the interpretation of Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards to assure the proper security mitigations are selected and implemented to meet the unique challenges in each area. They will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to assure each data center meets the high standards AWS sets for physical security. They must also ensure local security teams have the technical knowledge and resources necessary to meet the ongoing physical security mission.


Key job responsibilities
• Meticulous creation and management over assigned programs, projects or systems
• Leading and mentoring a team of Security Program Managers responsible for construction and retrofit projects
• Deliver quantitative metrics on the status of key internal programs or projects
• Proactively manage changes in project scopes, identify potential crises, and devise contingency reaction plans
• The ability to drive innovation and look around corners while finding better ways to serve our customers.
• Improve and scale our program as customer’s needs increase
• Partner directly with security customers/partners in support of existing locations and emerging environments
• Proactively keep leadership fully informed of customer engagement, status, issues, and activities
• Remain connected with industry trends and events. Develop and maintain connections with key industry personnel and manufacturers
• Assist/mentor internal and external security teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A minimum of 5 years of technical security experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of managing security teams for large-scale projects.
- Basic understanding of electronic security systems, system design, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and establish clear strategy.
- Capable of communicating effectively verbally and in writing to an executive audience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Computer Science (or related field)
- Hands-on experience with security solutions (e.g. IPS, IDS , Vulnerability Scanning, etc.) or services (e.g. penetration testing, security device testing, etc.)
- Experience with managing technical teams and project management
- Strong people and leadership skills with a proven ability to influence others, reach alignment and obtain commitments from teams with different priorities and constraints in order to successfully achieve program goals.
- Well-developed business and technical skills. Ability to effectively understand tradeoffs between business and technology while never losing sight of the customer experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience working across multiple disciplines with a proven track record of being able to learn new technologies and contribute to ideas and initiatives.
