Data Engineer, DSP Analytics

Amazon Last Mile DSP is seeking an extraordinary Data Engineer to join the DSP Analytics team.

This person will play a key role in providing the end-to-end engineering solutions to support key business initiatives related to Insurance products and Insurance claims. If you are passionate about technologies, strongly biased to go deep to find insights and build scalable analytical platform, relentless in ensuring quality and reliability, and feel comfortable communicating with different levels of leadership, you are the candidate we are looking for!
You should have deep expertise in the creation, management, and business use of datasets, across a variety of data platforms. You should have excellent business and interpersonal skills to be able to work with business owners to understand data requirements, and to build to ingest the into the lake. You should be an authority at crafting, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions to flow from production systems into the data lake. Above all you should be passionate about working with complex business datasets and someone who loves to bring datasets together to answer business questions and drive growth.
You will develop new engineering patterns that leverage new cloud architectures, and will extend or migrate existing pipelines to the architectures as needed. You will be responsible for designing and implementing the complex pipelines in data platform and other BI solutions to support the rapidly growing and dynamic business demand, and use it to deliver the data as service which will have an immediate influence on day-to-day decision making at Amazon.com
Key job responsibilities
* Develop data products, infrastructure and data pipelines leveraging AWS services (such as Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda etc.) and internal Amazon tools.
* Improve existing solutions and come up with next generation Data Architecture to improve scale, quality, timeliness, coverage, monitoring and security.
* Develop new data models and end to data pipelines.
* Lead design reviews for other Data Engineers on the team and actively participate in design reviews of related tech products.
* Provide technical and thought leadership for Data Engineering and Business Intelligence within the org.
* Create and implement Data Governance processes for mitigating privacy and security risks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
- Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
