DESCRIPTION

The Device Associate (DA) team provides testing support for silicon projects and products. The primary objective of the DA organization is to provide manual testing support for various test buckets like regressions, performance, stress for CI/CD pipelines and releases. As a manager for DA team you will be responsible for managing deliverables, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing processes for both manual and automated test executions. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high-quality testing standards across various projects and products.


Your scope of work is to apply existing processes to plan and execute projects for small to mid-size teams directly reporting into you. You will also look at process optimization and implement improvements in quality / productivity with measurable results. You are able to develop skill matrix, allocate resource, distribute daily tasks ,ensure closure of day-to-day activities, assess and report risks and escalate to stakeholder on time . You demonstrate capability to understand fundamental test methodologies and metrics and generate reports against them. You own and prioritize work allocation based on business needs. You are responsible for planning and procuring all the hardware, software and other infrastructure needed for day-to-day operations and escalate it to management when there is a need. You understand Amazon’s hiring process and actively participate in hiring for your team. You also evaluate the performance of your time at regular intervals and responsible for providing career growth opportunities for your team.


Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities:

* Oversee and manage the Device Associate team, ensuring effective performance and collaboration.
* Own and drive the deliverables for defined DA workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs.
* Lead release management for SoC projects, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions.
* Effectively report failures and start discussions with stakeholders by escalating issues and ensuring timely resolution per SLAs.
* Identify and implement efficient processes for onboarding manual and automated executions managed by the DA team.
* Monitor Quality check dashboards and maintain a focus on quality metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
* Prepare and present daily quality reports, providing insights and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
* Foster a positive team culture, providing mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities for team members.
* Oversee lab and test farm maintenance to ensure optimal testing conditions and resource availability.
* Model capacity planning and ensure that idle time and commitment misses are minimized
* Drive process improvements and metrics to improve the overall team performance
* Work with functional QA to identify gaps and coordinate with process experts to fill them.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in a testing or quality assurance role, with at least 3 years in a management capacity.
* Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and tools.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
* Familiarity with Linux environment and
