Amazon’s Customer Service organization is looking to expand its software engineering team to help drive automation, self-service and defect reduction for customers. We are searching for smart, energetic and passionate software development engineers to solve complex technical problems and to work with engineering and business teams distributed across the globe.

Amazon's Customer Service (CS) department is seeking an experienced software development engineer (SDE) to join the team. CS is the heart of Amazon, our vision is to be "Earth's most customer-centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online."

Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will work within the Consumer Tech and Product (CTAP) team and own the delivery of technical changes from a strong roadmap of projects. The projects range from introducing new self-service workflows for customers to access from the website to new Email, Push and SMS notifications. The candidate will gain a vast amount of experience in a short time period by working with various technical teams from across the globe on an away team model basis.

A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer in CTAP, you will take the lead on building innovative solutions for to address the root causes of defects. You will also own the technical relationships with the business teams. You will have a strong bias for action, invent and simplify, insist on the highest standards and deliver results.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
