Amazon’s EU Marketplace Pricing team is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who will work with a global team of product managers, data engineers, software developers, economists and data scientists, to build features, identify defects and automate processes that make it easier to delight our customers and help our Sellers grow their business. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, curious, have a sense of humor, and demonstrate an ability to have fun.




Key job responsibilities
As part of this role you will:
- Work closely with product, economist, Data Engineering and ML teams to identify opportunities and issues.
- Participate in developing strategy for turning data into actionable insights
- Inspect key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues.
- Build metrics to measure key inputs and output metrics that drive Amazon price perception
- Develop deep dive and automation tools, and BIE products used across Amazon to understand our key metrics


A day in the life
In this role you will have exposure to all phases of the product life cycle including researching customer/seller needs, developing opportunity models, and building operational metrics. You will develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly tools, reports and dashboards to support product strategy and operational performance. You will work closely with regional and global BIEs to work smarter, faster, and generate big ideas. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with big data sets, exposure to data science, and contributing to product design.
You will work independently, as well as support 3-5 product managers and the Head Of EU 3P Pricing who will be your primary customers. In addition, we liaise with several different teams in Amazon's ecosystem that own different products, programs and technologies that our Sellers and Customers interact with.

About the team
The EU Marketplace Pricing team helps over +1MM Selling Partners price over 100MM ASIN’s and delight customers with sharp and competitive prices across 70% of Amazon EU GV’s. In a very real way, we impact our customers and selling partners every day.
This role can be recruited in London, Munich, Milan, Paris, Madrid or Luxembourg

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience in the data/BI space
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience with SQL
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Math, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing,
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field
- Experiences related to AWS services such as SageMaker, EMR, S3, DynamoDB and EC2, hands-on experience of building ML solutions on AWS
- Familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts is a plus.
- Experience maintaining data warehouse systems and working on large-scale data transformation using AWS technologies like S3 and Redshift.
- Comfort with ambiguity and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Experience with enterprise-class BI tools like QuickSight, PowerBi or Tableau and coding experience in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Scala, Java, etc.).
