Amazon Search creates powerful, customer-focused search and advertising solutions and technologies. Our Visual Shopping team creates solutions aimed at helping customers search and discover the world around them via a camera-phone view. We use advanced technologies to leverage our vast catalog of images in ways that dramatically improve the experience of Amazon customers. We tackle complex problems in computer vision, image recognition, machine learning, and large-scale distributed systems.

Amazon Search is seeking a quick-thinking, detail-oriented program manager to help us build Amazon-scale datasets for our machine learning efforts. Specifically, you will accelerate the progress of our computer vision teams both by measuring the performance of their solutions, and by creating new datasets that incorporate feedback from the performance monitoring. To succeed, you must possess a broad knowledge of consumer products in general, excel at program management, and continuously seek out ways to improve and scale up our dataset building efforts.

Key job responsibilities
· Managing the end-to-end relationships with our vendors and workforces
· Forecasting future spend, and tracking overall vendor spend to budget, closely coordinating with Finance and other stakeholders
· Negotiating and managing vendor contracts
· Monitoring vendor performance and addressing any issues or concerns to maintain service levels
· Communicating opportunities and status reports to Amazon leadership
· Designing, operating and analyzing data groundtruthing pipelines that involve multilingual workforces

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of vendor management experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Knowledge of basic statistics (standard deviation, correlation, hypothesis testing)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
