Finance Manager, DaS Logistics

Device Global Logistics Finance is looking for a talented Finance Manager to join our team and help support Devices Global Logistics for Amazon Devices. This role will partner closely with our Devices global logistics leaders to optimize logistics planning decisions that result in multi-billion dollar material commits across the supply chain.

As a Finance Manager for DaS Logistics, you will be the finance leader for disruptive new transportation initiatives with a focus on business partnering, strategic decision support, financial controllership and cost reduction. This person will partner with multiple stakeholders to provide timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership to this high-growth organization. This role requires extensive cross-functional partnership with various DaS product line finance teams to identify best practices across the network and lead cost improvement efforts.

This role can be located in Amazon offices in Sunnyvale, CA or Seattle, WA.

Key job responsibilities
- Partner with your team and develop all weekly and monthly financial close activities, all planning, forecasting, and reporting models while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to both your operations & other business partners
- Root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then assist, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect costs in their sites and create new mechanisms as they are needed
- Identify and develop key business opportunities and drive efficiency while balancing customer promise
- Manage others, develop exceptional talent, and encourage your team to challenge assumptions
- Expertise in collecting, analyzing and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful analyses to lead business improvement and cost reductions
- Partner with Devices product line finance teams, Consumer Transportation Finance teams and Consumer FC Finance to drive cost out and optimal cross functional decisions that maximize Amazon's long term free cash flow.

About the team
We are the Devices Global Logistics Finance Team. We are fully involved in Inbound Freight planning and work with our Network Finance counterparts to better understand forecast assumptions and variance drivers around FC Variable, FC Fixed, and Outbound Shipping Costs. Our team has spent this past year scrubbing our data and we are focused on sourcing it from data sources rather than exporting and manipulating in Excel. Our goal is to automate our systems and processes so that we can be better business partners and support the growth of Devices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
