Technical Projects Program Mgr, Global Real Estate & Facilities
DESCRIPTION
This leader oversees a team of technical project managers directly managing dozens of design and construction projects from $5k-$100MM+ across North America, including new builds, expansions, renovations, and small adjustments of corporate facilities. Amazon continues expansion of its businesses in aerospace, life sciences, robotics, quantum computing, and devices. New construction and renovation of technically advanced facilities supports research, development, and manufacturing for and these business lines and will continue to grow proportionally as part of Amazon’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of technical project managers across north America with ownership of projects from inception to completion
- Drive capital projects planning and management for technical corporate facilities
- Accountable for overall project delivery and coordination with project stakeholders such as EH&S, Sustainability, Procurement, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Finance teams
- Meet with leadership from key project stakeholders to understand their business well enough to help teams define project parameters and take accountability for quality, cost and timely delivery
- Manage teams of project managers, architects, design consultants, MEP consultants, contractors, subcontractors, IT/AV, strategic planning and facilities managers to ensure decisions are made at the appropriate level and Amazon’s priorities are always the driving factor
- Help drive successful site selection for new sites
- Ensure appropriate resources are allocated to complete the projects in accordance with the strategy
- Oversee the total portfolio of projects within your team to ensure timely completion, efficient use of resources and successful handover of space to end users
- Guidance of design, including but not limited to specialty equipment and infrastructure needs, space-plans, finishes, etc.
- Influence design guidelines for technical facilities, including minimum specifications, basis of design for various building systems, etc.
A day in the life
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years successful professional experience required in one or more of the following areas: construction or engineering project management, real estate development, or relevant architecture/design experience
- Comfortable with legal terms and structures for standard commercial contracts and leases
- Experience managing multiple projects across numerous sites, and regions
- Keen understanding of sourcing/procurement, facilities operations, vendor management and customer service
- Ability to communicate complex project execution strategy and plans clearly to internal and external stakeholders and lead diverse groups of staff and contractors
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS degree, OR alternative to a degree, an additional 10+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in technical engineering or manufacturing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
