Want to help inform the future of US Prime Video Commerce? Want to join an evolving business? We seek a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to focus on building world class processes around designing, collecting, organizing and presenting data for our commerce business.

As a BI Engineer working on the PV Commerce, you will be working closely with Product Managers, Tech teams, Science Teams, Finance Managers , and other internal/external stakeholders to drive analytics that is timely and accurate. You work with very large datasets, and develop solutions to complex business problems with imperfect data. In particular you will guide product and tech team’s analytical & reporting feature development.

Experience with multiple large datasets, sharp decision making, managing ambiguity, and ability to influence are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc.
• Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
• Build and deliver high quality data architecture and pipelines to support external reporting needs
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis; data integrity, test design, analysis, validation and documentation
• Learn and understand a broad range of available data resources and articulate when, how and which to use and which not to use
• Translate basic business problem statements into specific analytical requirements. Work with internal stakeholders to define best output to meet customer needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
