Sr. Manager, Security Engineering, Healthcare Security
DESCRIPTION
The Amazon Stores Security team is responsible for protecting Amazon’s information assets. We partner across Amazon’s Stores business units to build and monitor a secure environment for the Amazon business, software and data. We provide security “In the Cloud” and enable scalable mechanisms for software developers and systems to meet Amazon’s security and privacy requirements. We are both a customer and a partner to AWS in raising security awareness, providing scalable tools, and protecting shared infrastructure.

Towards this mission, we are building the technology, products and services, that help customers find, buy, and engage with the healthcare solutions they need. In the United States, we have launched Amazon Pharmacy, Amazon Clinic and recently acquired One Medical towards this mission.
Paramount to our success is ensuring that customer health data is secure and our services are designed with security as top priority. We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Security Engineering to lead a global team of security engineers.
Key job responsibilities
• Partner with engineering leaders in Amazon Health Services to drive secure-by-design and ensure services are secure at launch.
• Establish credibility as a trusted security advisor to stakeholders, including engineering leaders, peers, and employees.
• Partner with key stakeholders to drive implementation of security-related technical and process controls to remediate risks identified during engagement.
• Fostering, coaching, recruiting and scaling a team of world class security engineers; providing strategic and tactical oversight to the team and the program.
• Build organizational capability within teams by recruiting and retaining outstanding talent and providing mentoring, training (internal and external), and other opportunities for professional growth and development.

This position within the Healthcare Security team represents a rare opportunity to get in with a fast-growing business. You will help shape the technology, product and the business in terms of Information Security. A successful candidate will bring deep technical security and software expertise, strong business acumen and judgment. You will use your ability to define visionary, ground breaking products, hire and lead teams, and demonstrate an ability to work within a fast-moving environment to rapidly deliver services that have broad business impact.
In this role, will lead your team to partner with the engineering teams to deliver software services that are designed for security from the outset and launched with a high security bar. You will continue to raise the security bar of services in production and ensure that there are mechanisms and metrics to improve security. You will define the right long-term security architecture partnering with our engineering leaders, and deliver innovative ideas to improve security across both internal and third-party services that we use to deliver the customer experience. You will need to be an exceptional organizational leader, who can hire, grow and retain a diverse and talented team of cybersecurity professionals to deliver this mission.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge in secure software development, experience through multiple consumer product launches, judgment on security risks and ability to hold a high security standard.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably in Computer Science (or related discipline) or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of industry experience in secure software development and web application security
- 10+ years people management experience building strong teams of 50+ people and managing managers. A passion for people management and mentorship.
- Strong and proven ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications in cyber security
- 5+ years of experience as a software developer building large modular system
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $187,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $324,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
