DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer who will work on the Consumables team and provide BI support for the business team, including product/program managers and the leadership team, with the aim of helping to achieve business goals.
The ideal candidate will be excited about pulling complex data from large-scale databases using SQL, identifying and developing relevant metrics for key programs. Being able to dive deep into various data to provide business insights leading to growth drivers and building KPIs and tracking mechanisms is another key expected element for the candidate. Key job responsibilities
The Consumables division owns FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) products including Grocery, Health and Personal Care, Beauty, Baby, and Pet, which are experiencing rapid growth within Amazon.co.jp. This role involves providing overall BI support for the team, including static metric reporting, dashboard building, data infrastructure building, data pipeline creation, and consultation support for identifying KPIs for specific business purposes. You are expected to have a deep understanding of the business and our customers to bring insights based on various data points. You are also expected to have close communication with cross-functional internal stakeholders to provide the expected outputs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Business level English both in verbal and written
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
