Sr. Software Dev Engineer

Ever wondered how millions of sellers build their business using Amazons marketplace and fulfillment capabilities? Our group is at the center of the action, building systems that enable sellers to fulfill orders leveraging Amazon’s vast network of warehouses. Our team owns fulfillment services that allow both Sellers and Vendors to fulfill their off-Amazon (Direct To Customer websites) orders using their amazon.com inventory that is located in the Amazon Fulfillment Network. We're seeking a Sr. Software Dev Engineer to stimulate the Multi Channel Fulfillment (MCF) & Santos Buy with Prime (BwP) Fulfillment optimization and execution workstreams. This role drives our mission to further empower selling partners and grow MCF & BwP business.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for an Sr. SDE with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering innovative solutions for complex problems on an unprecedented scale. In addition to being technically deep you need to have exceptional product ownership and the ability to own a project from inception through to release and operations. You will need the ability to have a long-term technical vision, while also integrating feedback from customers and taking into consideration the long-term impact of any decisions. We need someone who loves learning and coaching other engineers on the team in a quick moving, iterative and highly collaborative environment.
You will be expected to:
1. Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary teams to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
2. Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, and communicate inherent risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners.
3. Lead E2E architecture, design, implementation, support, and evaluation of technology-focused tools and services. Design and build innovative solutions in a large distributed architecture and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
4. Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
A day in the life
This role is for a Sr. SDE with an emphasis on designing highly scalable and extensible applications. You'll be designing, building & leading other engineers on cutting edge and highly distributed systems. You will also work closely with stakeholders, and products to deliver our most complex, high quality, scalable products deployed around the world.

MCF is a third-party logistics (3PL) solution that enables merchants to leverage Amazon’s fulfillment network and team of experts to pick, pack, ship, and deliver customer orders from off-Amazon sales channels.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 4+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience leading and influencing your team or organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
