Business Analyst II, Discovery Abuse team

The Discovery Abuse team is looking for a Business Analyst that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment. Business Analyst will retrieve and analyze seller impacting data. Will collaborate with business and development teams across the company to understand the business and project requirements and translate these into meaningful KPI’s and metrics. The successful candidate would work well with cross-functional teams of business managers, operations and project managers, has an extremely high level of customer focus and a passion for data. Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases. Design, implement and drive adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions and promote industry standard best practices. Responsible to tune query performance against large and complex data sets. Help translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement.
Key job responsibilities
• Work with different stakeholders to create analytical tools that will ultimately be a key driver for performance.
• Leverage data to drive operational efficiencies, provide key data-driven insights, enable new opportunities and innovate.
• Developing the next generation of data & analytics infrastructure for the Risk Management team.
• Generating actionable insights through the development of metrics, dashboards and deep dive analyses.
• Providing insights to Program Management as new initiatives are being identified, prioritized, implemented and deployed.
• Serving as a business metrics guru and insight provider in the organization.
• Manage and execute entire components of large projects from start to finish including data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
• Overall responsibility for the data integrity and assurance that the data is correct and current.
• Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered.
• Extensive experience working with extremely large data sets and are comfortable with various tools and technologies to extract and transform data
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- Experience with Excel
- 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience in data transformation through SQL and Excel.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Redshift, QuickSight, etc.
- Tangible experience doing data analysis, data extraction form data warehouse, and generating usable reports (must be specified on the resume).
- Advanced working knowledge of data mining data transformation through using SQL, ETL.
- Proven track record of identifying metric variances and delivering solutions to address the changes.
- Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
- Deep diving business trends, analyzing anomalies and guiding business decision-making through data
- 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Power BI experience
- Building dashboard/scalable metric tracking mechanisms and automated processes
- Working closely with Business, Program, Quality and Operations teams to find ways to reduce seller abuse
- Ensuring that the team works backwards from the customer problem using data
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to support analytical and business needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Redshift, etc.
- Proficiency with at least one statistical software package
- Proven capability in statistical analysis (e.g., ability to conduct analyses using regression, modeling, forecasting approaches, and related tools).
- Degree in a technical, business, or analytical field (Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field).
- Experience on user level data analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of process modeling and mapping and associated tools.
- Familiar with data engineering and data pipe-lining
- Experience with automating processes using a scripting language.
