Finance Manager, Delivery Experience (DEX)
DESCRIPTION
The Delivery Experience (DEX) team provides customers with innovative ways to get what they want and need, enabling the choices they make on every order, every day. DEX defines, builds, launches and manages Prime and non-Prime, customer-facing delivery programs such as Same-Day delivery, and the customer experience (CX) features presented to millions of customers every day from Search through Checkout.
The Finance Manager will be an integral member of the DEX Speed team. The successful candidate has strong business partnership experience and effectively dives deep into the details to provide strategic guidance, tactical direction, and decision support.
This role will focus on partnering with Product and Tech teams to quantify the impact to demand of new offerings to customers. The Finance Manager will provide insights to Operation teams on expected volume growth, and provide financial support to determine the required long term investments to the delivery network.
This is a perfect fit for someone who knows how to work fast and smart; who is comfortable with the ambiguity and complexity of optimizing for business metrics across multiple and sometimes conflicting dimensions; who knows the difference between one-way and a two-way door decisions; and who has strong backbone and makes their opinion known to leadership.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner closely with business teams to drive successful outcomes for the DEX and Operations team, providing accurate long term demand forecasting
- Build and own models for in-depth analyses, as well as ensure their quality, timeliness, and accuracy
- Leverage your financial background to support and influence key strategic and business decisions
- Be your business teams’ financial partner for analysis and evaluation of strategic projects and initiatives (e.g. investments or business strategy shifts)
- Design and implement metrics to measure efficiency and ROI of investments or strategies
- Assist in the creation of ad-hoc analyses for cross-functional leaders and management
- Independently deliver projects with limited oversight provided by your manager to scale, improve controllership, or create value-add enhancements.
- Drive communication at the senior manager level through effective financial modeling and reporting.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
