The Prime Video and Amazon Studios Consumer Insights team is looking for a Sr. Consumer Insights Manager to lead customer-focused primary and secondary research projects in Japan. We are looking for highly skilled and experienced Consumer Insights expert to work closely with cross-functional stakeholder teams across Prime Video and Amazon Studios to help shape content and marketing strategy. We are a center of customer voice for Prime Video and Amazon Studios in Japan, supporting a wide range of business and creative decisions. As part of Global Consumer Insights team, you will also partner close with global and regional insights counterparts to establish strong insights foundation. You will play a key role to set and enhance scalable, effective research mechanisms and deliver actionable insights at daily basis.

The successful candidate will be experienced in a wide range of consumer research methodologies, both in quantitative and qualitative approaches. This role requires robust experience in creating strategic and actionable business recommendations combining observations from complex datasets. It is crucial that they have hands-on and deep experience in managing primary customer research studies and its stakeholder needs. They will also skillfully manage the scope of multiple, competing priorities, to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of research. They will be a self-starter who thrives in change and ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop strategic and collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams across Prime Video and Amazon Studios, working closely with stakeholders at all levels to design efficient, consumer-focused research plans that align with Prime Video’s business goals.
• Identify scalable solutions to ensure consistent insights delivery contributing to effective marketing and content activities contextualized with insights on broader industry trends.
• Lead in-depth studies and conduct meta-analysis to produce consolidated learnings to support mid- and long-term business strategy.
• Own end-to-end management of bespoke and streamlined consumer research projects, from ideation through delivery. Write RFPs and questionnaires, analyze data from primary and secondary sources, write research papers and report results to stakeholders.
• Work in internal team projects to standardize best practices, streamline processes and enhance impact.
• Contribute to teams’ day-to-day operational and planning tasks.
• Represent, and advocate for, the Prime Video customer in all analysis and meetings.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of relevant market research experience
- Direct experience leading primary research studies across various methodologies (online quant surveys, focus groups, 1:1, ethnos, online qual, etc.)
- Proven written and verbal communication skills to convey key insights from analysis
- Japanese and English bilingual both in verbal and writing communications
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams
- Demonstrated ability to operate with significant autonomy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience on the research vendor side or within the research group of a media company/consumer business company
- Familiarity with Japanese entertainment landscape
- Experience in communicating results to senior leadership
- Understanding of various marketing, measurement and insight frameworks
- Experience with various statistical techniques
- Experience with applied statistics, predictive analytics, and mixed methodology research
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
