DESCRIPTION

The advertising industry is currently undergoing rapid transformative change with regards to how and when ads can be served. Amazon Advertising Finance is looking for a finance leader to work hand-in-hand with our business teams as we produce next generation advertising solutions, which deliver value both for our advertisers as well as customers of our Amazon Store, Prime Video, or other services. As a Finance Manager, you will closely work with business and finance leaders to develop financial models for both short and long term business and financial goals and drive business initiatives in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. You will lead discussions, papers and cross-functional efforts to address big picture questions focusing on product, privacy and legal.

This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities
-Apply analytical prowess across all areas of our advertising business to uncover insights into potential opportunity areas for optimization
-"Size the prize" on our customer-data focused initiatives, translating an idea into an actionable and concrete plan for driving value to the business
-Utilize petabytes of data in complex analysis, partnering with data scientists, business intelligence engineers, and economists, to go beyond the scope of traditional finance work
-Establish new reporting tools, metrics, and mental models for how we think of and measure the efficacy of our programs
-Write white papers for leadership on ambiguous and thought provoking topics
-Learn about all aspects of digital advertising (data-protection, supply, demand, auctions, etc.)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 5+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
