Amazon Robotics (AR) is seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the Robotics Manufacturing & Technical Operations (RMTO) team. This role will be responsible for leading the strategic planning and operational processes across all the teams under the RMTO umbrella. The TPM will oversee the delivery of key strategic planning outputs, such as 3-year plans, financial business cases for future investments, and operational plans for the services provided by RMTO to customers like product or operations teams. This role is critical for enabling RMTO's growth, as the TPM will assess new business cases and operationalize financially viable solutions. They will also create and iterate on metrics like gearing ratios and resource allocations related to discretionary spend, infrastructure, and engineering, evaluating the impact versus effort. This role for the Day 1 Production System will own all aspects of RMTO’s growth playbook strategy including value creation roll-ups for the initiative. The position requires close collaboration with RMTO and broader organizational leadership, other strategy leaders, product managers, execution-focused TPMs, and the finance team.

This role will report to RMTO Business Operations leader to lead in various areas of RMTO Rhythm of Business (ROB).The ideal candidate will have a passion for future facing business perspective, to optimize existing or create new mechanisms. They will be highly skilled at working backwards from multiple customers, demonstrate the ability to advise and influence organization management to align to a multi-year strategy. They will also be agile yet nimble, to mold the manufacturing strategy with technical acumen, as per evolving business needs specially in the new service or product introduction space.


Key job responsibilities
* Lead both long term planning (3-Year Plan) and short term Operational Planning (OP1/OP2) for RMTO
* Work with finance on creating or iterating gearing ratios and calibrating it according to the services provided by RMTO, to find areas of efficiencies
* Work closely with RMTO’s leadership to identify and assess risks in strategic plans due to resourcing, costs, timelines and build capabilities
* Support RMTO’s insourcing roadmap with close partnership with pillars of broader organization and internal technical operations teams, to ensure the right level of assembly/sub-assemblies are internally manufactured
* Support RMTO’s Intake mechanism by scoping new initiatives and stack ranking the order of program priority at a monthly cadence
* Supporting resource allocation tools development and their integration with internal teams to become RMTO’s SME
* Ensure RMTO’s Day One Production System and its initiatives alignment in the overall strategy to influence its adoption from teams across RMTO
* Ensure major New Product Introduction (NPI) scope changes are being fed into RMTO and are dispositioned collectively by teams across RMTO
* Partner closely with AR & GRD Business Operations TPMs to influence integration for all aspects of RMTO’s service offerings
* Partner closely with IT & Business partners to enable systemic enhancements to core business applications (MES, ERP, PLM, ASCP) to deliver value as it pertains to RMTO’s overall business operations.

About the team
The Business Operations team (Biz Ops) for Robotics Manufacturing Technical Operations (RMTO) works across the Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics (FTR) department to enable manufacturing scalability and adaptability to best serve the Amazon Operations Network. Through strategic thought leadership, we evaluate manufacturing constraints across the product portfolio to deliver solutions that optimize resource allocation and maximize customer responsiveness. Our team’s holistic and peculiar mindset allows us to develop the manufacturing leaders of tomorrow while delivering results for our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related Finance field
- Excellent communication, writing and collaboration skills
- Experience developing and executing/delivering technical/financial roadmaps
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive project timelines to completion
- Proven ability to understand the product life-cycle and inter process dependencies
- Proven knowledge of ERP, PLM, and MES systems in a manufacturing and/or supply chain environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Engineering or Business Master’s degree
- PMP/APICS Certification
- Experience with feature/service delivery and trade-offs of a product
