Key job responsibilities
• Project Management oversight and for physical security systems related to new construction, expansion, and retrofit projects.

• People management of an organization of 25-30 project/program managers to include performance management, coaching, recognition, disciplinary action, and performance evaluations.

• Lead a team responsible for preparation of physical security project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close-out documentation.

• Research emerging physical security technologies to assess their applicability within the AWS physical security program.

• Provide technical and project management support for local and regional physical security teams.

• Report performance metrics such as physical security system installation vendor service delivery performance, actual spend vs. budget variance, cost reduction goal attainment, post installation defect rates, physical security program analysis, etc.

• Continuously monitor processes and drive improvements in efficiency and quality of our security programs; develop, track and report on key program performance metrics.


About the team
The AWS Data Center Security team is looking for a creative, innovative, results-oriented leader in the Northern Virginia/Greater Washington D.C area to lead the Americas East team of Security Program Managers (SPM). The ideal candidate will be able to foster a collaborative and productive environment and a strong service-oriented culture among a diverse and highly skilled team of project and program managers. This team is responsible for the design, installation, and evolution of physical security systems to include intrusion detection, access control/management, CCTV, screening, emergency response, etc.

A successful candidate will be able to help us reimagine and improve existing workstreams, as well as create, and build processes and mechanisms to manage the largest data center physical security infrastructure program in the world. You will be responsible for interpretation of Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards to assure the proper security mitigations are selected and implemented to meet the unique challenges in each area. You will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to assure each data center meets the high standards AWS sets for physical security. This position will be responsible for assuring local security teams have the technical knowledge and resources necessary to meet the ongoing physical security mission.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in physical security project management.
- 5+ years' experience in Security Operations experience in technology, manufacturing, or similar industries, to include access control systems, CCTV, and defense in depth strategies.
- 3+ years of people management experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- People management experience in a security-related field.
- Experience in the delivery of physical security projects or programs within an enterprise setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security standards and system designs.
- Background in any of the following: Physical Security Design, Security Systems Deployment, Physical Security Operations, Security Architecture, Construction Management
- Demonstrated ability to successfully influence stakeholders, leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
- PSP, CPP, PMP Certification
- Passion for security, curiosity to dive deep into Amazon’s suite of technical products and commitment to learning and expanding technical knowledge.
