ABOUT THIS ROLE
Audible Studios are looking for an experienced professional Production Manager to work within the existing scripted content team to handle end to end production management on selected scripted drama projects; including building teams of external creatives, in-house casting, talent deal-making, negotiation and talent-related initiatives.

ABOUT YOU
You will be comfortable working at high volume with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and be able to react fast to changing priorities. You will have strong direct relationships with key acting agents and production freelancers in the industry and will be proactive in strengthening and widening these relationships on a regular basis. You will be recognized within the business and externally as one of the key individuals to approach for drama production and casting.

This position is a 18-month fixed-term contract.

As a production Manager - Audio Drama, you will…
- Take an overall project lead across all Original drama production, identifying external production companies or partners to work with, developing strong partnerships, and managing all aspects of the productions, including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the audio-drama industry, actively listening to professional and emerging productions
- Uphold Audible's commitment to great production and pushing boundaries
- Book, negotiate, and build production teams, either as one entity or by compiling compatible teams of freelancers or expert companies, including completing staff services contracts
- Lead casting initiatives for upcoming projects, arranging and hosting casting meetings, collating feedback, and sharing with stakeholders
- Support external production teams with regular meetings, check-in points, updates, guidance and key decision making
- Study scripts, understand casting requirements, identify talent opportunities, and have a keen eye (ear) for talent, nurturing relationships with key acting agents
- Work with external freelancers or production companies on casting, leveraging personal experience and database tools to ensure diversity, inclusion, and authenticity
- Approach, offer, negotiate, and complete talent deals, which may be complex and high-profile, working with legal if needed, and protecting Audible's interests through skilled negotiation and deal-making
- Realize business needs for performance and promotional services in talent deals, initiating and facilitating audition processes when required
- Take full ownership of bookings, ensuring hospitality aspects (cars, lunches, HMU artists) are taken care of, communicating clearly with agents, and meeting booked actors
- Ensure performance licenses or performance visas are obtained in good time, where required
- Implement, develop, and maintain systems for tracking and sharing deals and projects
- Work with the wider team to expand work for actors new to the industry
- Be proactive in creating new opportunities for up-and-coming off-mic talent through workshops, support programs, and initiatives, widening Audible's visibility in the audio drama production world
- Work with PR, Marketing, and Content Promotion teams to ensure promotional services are defined and achieved, leveraging personal experience and knowledge about specific performers
- Work with international peers to share and adopt best practices, ensuring colleagues globally have visibility on UK casting progress

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrable experience of casting and securing acting talent in a fast-paced media environment
- Demonstrated organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams under aggressive deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- A proven and talented negotiator
- Passion for spoken word audio, books and stories/ storytelling
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal ability. The ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and ideas in a non-technical, simple manner across different levels of an organisation
- Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and a focus on excellence
- Ability to maintain knowledge of industry trends
- Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly-evolving environment
