Principal Adviser - Central Government Transformation, International

As we grow our business, the International Central Government team (part of the Public Sector Industries group) is seeking a senior adviser, responsible for leading AWS’ engagements with senior public sector customers.
You are an experienced technical practitioner who has delivered technology transformation at scale across a government and/or nation-scale regulated industry. You should also be internationally recognized as a thought leader and effective communicator, capable of leading the government modernization agenda across priority market segments.
As an Advisor, you will help central government and other public service leaders accelerate their modernisation and reform programs.
• Supporting public sector organizations as they build digital government.
• Earning trust in order to educate, advise and inspire senior officials and ministers on how to successfully modernize their governments and address strategic challenges
o For example on the resilience and continuity of government and public service operations that our infrastructure provides (includes particular focus on developing and sustaining messaging and enablement
• Establishing - and delivering in partnership with leading business schools and other actors - effective engagement and workshop programs.
• Using analysis across our customer engagements to identifying common government-specific solutions that will accelerate transformation and initiating their development and deployment
• Evangelize cloud computing at the C-suite level and contribute to driving user adoption and engagement
• Build strong, long-term relationships across public sector organizations in the
• Travel required in this role is 30-40%



Key job responsibilities
Work with our customers to help them accelerate their modernisation and reform programs. You will evangelise successful approaches to transformation and be recognised as a leading authority in public service reform. This can include lecturing in customer education programs, building, collaborating and publishing rich educational content becoming the trusted adviser to our C Level customers in multiple countries. You will also be part of the leadership team building a unique capability in support of our sales and business development teams.

About the team
The International Central Government Team is a small worldwide practice that helps our customers accelerate their reform and modernisation programs. We work with executive and operational leaders in public service and at the core of the team are former public service executives who have led nation-scale digital transformations. This Advisory team shares the experience, examples, and expertise of successful public service transformations with executive level customers creating agenda-setting events and content assets to a growing membership of senior public service leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in senior government decision making role. Experience in a nation-scale regulated industry (banking, utilities) also possible.
- Articulates to senior level public sector stakeholders the value proposition of transformation and an inspiring vision for change, creating opportunities to develop markets and customers.
- 8+ years in leading government transformation programs
- 8+ years of financial modelling, business case development and treasury policy experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Clear and effective written communicator
- Wardley Mapping (or similar value chain/situational awareness mapping) experience.
- Deep technical knowledge.
- Track record of building rapport with senior customer executives.
- MBA or comparable education preferred
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity
