Engagement and Communications Manager
DESCRIPTION
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing Small and Midium Business accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
We are looking for a customer-focused, proactive, strategic, and detail-oriented Engagement Manager, passionate about maximizing the impact and scale of the APJ AWS Global Sales (AGS) leadership team (LT) and committed to driving transformational change. This role will direct the strategic execution of team priorities, define and deliver customer messaging, and manage complex customer requirements. This role requires a highly resourceful, self-driven individual with the ability to partner, execute, and lead through influence and collaboration across all groups within AWS and within the company.
This role is also responsible for defining and driving the communication strategy and long- term priorities for our Leadership team in Korea to drive working backwards communication strategies. This is a role that requires frequent engagement with AWS leadership and successful executive presence, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to influence others are must-have requirements.
Key job responsibilities
Leadership Team strategy and alignment: Partner across the AGS LT to define strategic priorities, establish measurement criteria, and inspect to ensure delivery of results.
Customer Engagement and Follow Through: In close coordination with the LT of AGS, prioritize customer meetings for maximum business impact. Guide and oversee complex sales customer opportunities from inception to close. Participate in customer meetings and activities, determine slate of appropriate attendees, consolidate actions, and ensure follow through by sales teams.
Sales Engagement: In close coordination with field sales, drive new business, increase and sustain existing business, and oversee follow up for AWS’s largest and strategic customers. This includes, where applicable, ensuring collaboration with matrixed stakeholders across multiple groups, and timely follow up to meet customer requirements.
Executive Communications, Case Studies & Presentations: In coordination with the AWS marketing team and the Leadership Enablement Team (LET), define executive themes in alignment with customer feedback and the organization’s goals. Ensure that themes are amplified through incorporation into internal and external events, customer interactions, case study development, solutions portfolio development, and other communications. Oversee development of a repository for executive collateral for easy access by LT.
Special Programs/Projects: Support and participate in strategic initiatives and cross- functional projects contributing to the overall success of the organization. Plan, lead, and facilitate leadership and team offsites, prioritizing messaging and presentation development, ensuring materials are sent in advance, and objectives are achieved.
Internal Communication: Manage the content strategy for the designated business unit, partnering with cross- functional teams to define key themes, messages, and channels. Proactively build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across a range of businesses and geography. Translate nuanced and complex business topics into communication contents and strategies that drive engagement with our AWS employees.

The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Knowledge/Experience managing comms campaigns in digital platforms like LinkedIn.
- Experience managing global stakeholders and unique cultural conditions
- Strong leadership skills
- An innate desire to learn and be curious.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
- End-to-end event planning and execution experience, with high level of attention to detail and time management.
- Demonstrated experience developing executive level communications in a variety of formats (e.g., blogs, executive presentations, whitepapers, etc.)
- Experience leading communications within a sales or marketing organization
- Experience driving cultural change and influencing organizations through communications, from audience and stakeholder analysis through data and success metrics tracking
- Experience developing and implementing communication plans
- Demonstrated experience building trust and influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders
- Experience creating content: digital, written, video, or visual communications materials
