You will get to work on a lot of established as well as green field AWS technologies and design large scale backend systems from scratch. About the team
Playback Intelligence comprises multiple teams that own the data platform, the streaming metrics computation engine, a range of published datasets consumed by diverse business units and the customer facing tooling for accessing petabytes of data in a readily consumable format. We support a range of customers such as playback engineers looking at diagnostic telemetry, partner teams working on algorithms for improving playback performance and operators monitoring live international sports events.

The charter of the Tools, Monitoring and Insights Team (within Playback Intelligence) is to develop systems that generate actionable metrics, datasets, insights, and intelligence which consumers can explore via tools, dashboards, ML systems, Generative AI solutions, or APIs to automate actions. We partner closely with our sister team that collect trillions of events per day direct from end user devices all around the world. We love data and the value we can deliver to our customers through automated analysis of that data whilst at all times doing so with appropriate security and privacy controls. We also know that numbers are of little use without context, and to that end have empowered our users by creating and exposing KPIs and associated insights to users through a variety of interfaces including intuitive web applications that offer a guided flow every step of the way from analyzing top level metrics down to exploring a single streaming session. We additionally strive to automate data exploration where we can, and are investing into new machine learning models and Generative AI to identify the top items our teams should focus on to improve overall customer experience.

Our team supports streaming of Video on Demand Content including Amazon Originals, thousands of Linear Channels and Live Events such as Sports and Concerts. If you're interested in working with streaming video at scale, one of the largest Big Data problems in the world, low latency stream processing, and developing systems that generate insights through machine learning and tooling to our customers then you would be a perfect fit!
