The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for end-to-end support to operations of our unique shipping offerings to various shippers, specialty fulfillment network and other innovative business launches.

Key job responsibilities
You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of legal, privacy, competition, AI/ML and other technology, commercial, labour and compliance issues and regulatory matters and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions.

A day in the life
You will work directly with the business, serving as their primary counsel on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and dealing with diverse stakeholders including tax, finance, public relations, labour & employment, litigation and public policy teams.

About the team
The candidate will be part of a diverse and dynamic team of lawyers, supporting various Operations and Compliance businesses in India. This position reports to the Lead Legal Counsel - IN Operations and Compliances.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university or law school.
- Licensed to practice law in India or other common law jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 10 years of legal experience (with several years of experience at a leading global law firm and/or in-house at a major multinational corporation), preferably with some portion of that experience in technology and commercial transactions.
- The successful candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
- Excellent language capability including the ability to communicate orally and to draft legal documents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- A mix of in-house and law firm experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Common sense, great judgment.
