The Role:
We are looking for a skilled engineer to design and build self-service tools that help software development teams test code before pushed to production. Our tools support multiple workflows, plugin to various services across Amazon and scale as workloads increase. Our team owns feature development, performance, scalability and excellence on all our tools. You will work directly with our customers to make sure that changes and feature requests are balanced with performance and stability.
It is a challenge to work with hundreds of developers who rely on these tools and is also a great opportunity for engineers who are looking to push themselves and prove that they can achieve great things.
Our tools are critical to developer productivity, which means architecting a scalable, fault-tolerant is essential. You will engage with experienced, cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative solutions. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of software tools.
• Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Work with teams across Amazon on cross-team initiatives.
• Improving the user experience around services.
• Analyzing and improving availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security and performance of our services.
• Troubleshooting and resolving problems with production systems as part of our on-call rotation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
