As the Principal Talent Lead for AWS Data Centers, you design, implement, and scale talent strategies.
We are looking for a leader who earns trust and influences senior executives, thinks strategically about talent needs, diagnoses issues, spots patterns, and develops solutions that de-risk and accelerates the business. The Principal Talent Lead is a skilled communicator and facilitator, with experience driving strategic people decisions with senior leaders. This role reports into the Talent and Development team with a strong, matrixed relationship into the the AWS Data Center HR team.

Key job responsibilities
As the Principal Talent Lead for Data Centers, you get to:
(1) Deliver core talent processes such as talent reviews, succession planning, capacity plans and promotions, org analysis, and talent movement.
(2) Work with senior executives and HR teams to create tailored talent plans that drive business success and career growth for our employees.
(3) Lead data center specific talent projects with business and HR stakeholders. Guide the needs assessment, solution design and implementation of new mechanisms and processes.
(4) Create processes that enable identifying and surfacing top talent to HR/ Business Leaders. Deploy the right employees, to the right jobs at the right times.
(5) Partner with HR and AWS Talent Management to implement mechanisms with pan-AWS impact. Recognize and adapt global best practices as appropriate.
A day in the life
The Principal Talent Lead will plan, coordinate, and facilitate the executive level talent cadence for the Data Center Community organization, including succession planning, promotions, talent reviews and organizational analysis. They work backwards from the needs of the business to derive talent strategies and partner with HR and business leaders to align on and execute plans. The Principal Talent Partner not only runs the talent cadence, they are a consultant and thought partner with the HR Director and Data Center Community VPs/Directors regarding critical talent, succession readiness, and development planning.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience with 10+ years progressive in Talent Management or Human Resources.
• Demonstrates business and HR acumen, including problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical acuity.
• Proficient in partnering effectively with senior leaders through skillful navigation of ambiguous situations using strategic planning and effective project management.
• Communication, coaching and influencing skills across diverse counterparts, globally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's Degree in Business, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management or related field.
• Executive Coaching certification or experience as HR Business Partner to senior executives.
• Experience leading organizational design efforts to accelerate business growth.
• Demonstrated agility in thriving within fast-paced and innovative environments.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
