DESCRIPTION

Amazon Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging’s (MSP) Media Analysis Program (MAP) is looking for a customer-obsessed Quality Assurance Technician (QAT) to conduct detailed Quality Assurance (QA) projects in support of automations and robotics product development at Amazon's Robotics Development Center (RDC) and in the field. In this role you will leverage various cameras, sensors, and media collection equipment to capture processes for distributed analysis using a combination of internal, industry-standard, Free-and-Open-Source-Software (FOSS), and Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools. You will work with partners and stakeholders to generate meaningful data from media to provide unbiased performance data for products in development and inform business decisions at an executive level.

This is an interdisciplinary role at the RDC that will expose you to Project Management, Media Editing, Content Management, Learning & Development, Product Development, Business Intelligence, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, and Operations.


Key job responsibilities
* Execute test plans for product development and process improvement initiatives.
* Work with customers to understand their needs and escalate when necessary.
* Install, Operate, Maintain, and Secure (IOMS) various media collection equipment.
* Manage and Process various forms of digital media for human and machine analysis and annotation.
* Create and provide training for annotators.
* Supervise annotators during projects.
* Audit aggregated data for accuracy.
* Aggressively document your work.
* Install, Operate, Maintain, and Secure (IOMS) lab infrastructure.
* Up to 45% travel to support installation and Ground Truth development

A day in the life
On a given day in this role you might lead a meeting with customers and additional stakeholders to understand the requirements for an incoming request, work with cross-functional partners to determine what equipment can/should be used, conduct virtual/physical reconnaissance to determine where to place media collection equipment, develop a media collection strategy and/or a media analysis strategy, train partners and associates on your analysis strategy, edit and process media for analysis, perform light data management/analysis, manage an inventory of cameras and media equipment, manage internal portals and wikis, or whatever else you think will add value to the team.

About the team
MAP is focused on providing meaningful data for product development through media collection and analysis. In addition we partner with Science teams to build Ground Truth for ML development. In this role you will develop proficiency in many domains and have a profound impact on the future of Amazon’s Fulfillment Network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4 years of professional experience, or equivalent degree / certifications.
- 2 years of experience leading projects with multiple stakeholders to completion.
- Proficiency with modern productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspaces, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with cameras and other media collection devices.
- Proficiency editing, processing, and managing digital media.
- Comfortable handling data with a demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Comfortable supervising others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Sense of humor
- Experience in Amazon Operations Environment
- Willingness to make mistakes and learn from them.
- Experience with or an interest in AWS services & tools

- Experience with Davinci Black Magic ( Resolve or Adobe Creative Suite)
- Experience with NVRs and or CCTVs

- Experience with Knowledge Management, Project Management, and Collaboration tools (Asana, SharePoint, Jira, Salesforce, Quip, Google Workspaces, et cetera)
- Ability to lead without authority, with bonus points for an ability to lead upwards
- Ability to Turn ambiguous requests into tangible results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $45,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $100,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
