As an RF and Mixed Signal Design Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to conceive and design innovative product solutions. You will work closely with colleagues throughout Project Kuiper’s inter-disciplinary team, and engage third party suppliers, in order to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and optimization. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for implementation of hardware for use in both space and ground systems.

In this role you will:
• Work with EE team to design and deliver mixed signal and RF subsystems.
• Perform frequency planning using high speed ADC and DAC transceivers to accomplish mission objectives.
• Work with RF system, hardware, modem, and software teams to design and deliver mixed signal and RF subsystems.
• Have understanding of OSI protocol stack and amiliarity with wide-band modulation schemes like OFDM.
• Program in Linux to characterize and bring up the system.
• Specify, design, and build up test bench for RF design verification.
• Evaluate and optimize RF design in the lab to demonstrate design meets with system requirements.
• Work with RF system, power, software, mechanical engineering, baseband and compliance teams to ensure solution integrates with overall system objectives.
• Troubleshoot integrated hardware/software issues with modem and RF mixed signal frontend data converters.

A day in the life
As a Sr. Mixed signal RF Engineer you will work in a multi-disciplinary environment to design and deliver hardware for space. This requires the ability to work from concept to production. Candidates must be comfortable to work in the lab to debug and verify their designs.

The RF Hardware and Systems team is full of talented engineers who are the best of the best. They cover a wide range technical areas from power supplies, high speed digital, mixed signal, and RF. So members of this team need to be comfortable in multiple domains.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or 7+ years of relevant equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience with mixed signal and RF design
• 3+ years of experience board bring up and debugging in lab environment
• 3+ years of experience using lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers, Signal Generator,s Network Analyzers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of digital signal processing including quantization, digital filter design etc.
• Knowledge of integration between RF/analog and OFDM-based digital front end and modem
• Experience designing, testing, and verifying, and launching mass production products.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Experience in RF test equipment automation.
• Industry level experience with developing receiver circuit design, mixers, couplers, filters and etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
