Sr. Business Analyst, Selling Partner Communities - Global Events
DESCRIPTION
The Selling Partner Communities (SPC) organization is looking for a Senior Business Analyst that will use data to translate the "voice of the seller" into actionable insights that drive the development of our program roadmap and new product features. This Senior Business Analyst will support our growing events team and must understand how to tie data and analytics of live events directly to business goals.
Business Analysts (BAs) work directly with the business and our Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to apply the best data to each analysis they own. You will be the closest to the business, and will be expected to collaborate with business leaders to not only provide data-based insights, but also consult on what other data resources our team has to offer. You will dive deep on projects and work with the business teams and engineers to continuously inspect and influence the direction that our organization will take.
Key job responsibilities
Define Problem & Solution Framework
• Leverage domain expertise to identify process improvements and drive business performance
• Independently define analytical approach, develop and optimize KPIs, and implement scalable data processes
• Standardize requirements and scale strategies across the organization
Data Acquisition
• Serve as a company-wide asset for accessing and retrieving complex data from wide variety of subject areas and diverse sources
• Identify data gaps and partner with technology teams to develop APIs/tooling to facilitate seamless data movement between different funnels and systems.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency by working with data owners and authoritative sources
Analysis & Insights
• Solve complex and ambiguous analytical problems, conduct ad-hoc analysis, and derive recommendations that have impact on multiple teams and provide business value
• Utilize advanced statistical methods, data querying, predictive analysis techniques, and analytical tools to identify key drivers and derive actionable insights
• Manage and maintain inputs for various business reviews and all related documentation.
Communication & Influence
• Train stakeholders on data best practices to ease access to timely information; communicate and enforce data standards across the team, providing clear guidance and best practices.
• Design and implement standard reporting solutions and self-service capabilities to enable stakeholders to access and utilize data independently
• Own effective communication of metrics, analysis, and deep dive narratives to influence business direction; create and validate inputs and visualizations for documentation narratives and appendices; and ensure accuracy and relevance during key document milestones
• Partner with data engineering to influence data visualization and governance practices
• Gather and distribute data to key stakeholders post-event, including speakers and sponsors. Present data insights to the team post-event to inform future strategies and improvements.
• Review and provide feedback on any data intake tools, such as registration systems and surveys, to ensure data integrity and usability.
Project Management
• Work and represent team on multi-team projects, set long-term vision, influence roadmaps, manage project resources, and coordinate stakeholders.
• Oversee the intake process through the Asana data request form, continuously updating and refining the process as needed.

We achieve this by: (1) Providing effective channels for multi-directional engagement with Amazon, (2) Fostering an active and helpful community and information exchange among Selling Partners; (3) Understanding Selling Partners’ perceptions of, and being internal advocates to improve, their experience selling on Amazon; (4) Ensuring that public perception mirrors the reality that Amazon’s stores are a great place for Selling Partners to build and maintain a thriving business; and (5) Accelerating and strengthening third-party advocacy and partnerships that benefit Selling Partners.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with Excel (including pivot tables and function)
- Experience with SQL and understanding database structures
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, Business/Data Analytics, or related technical/engineering field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree
- Experience working with scripting languages such as Python
- Working knowledge of AWS tech stack (e.g., S3, Redshift, QuickSight, Sagemaker)
- Experience solving ambiguous analytical problems
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Experience with marketing tools, channels and activities, including lead management and sales funnel
- Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in variance channels

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
