Manager ATS Relay Ops - JP
DESCRIPTION
APEX organization is seeking a highly skilled and a motivated team player to lead MX and BR ROC operations. The team addresses disruptions in the Middlemile network, supporting drivers and carriers faced with unexpected events (poor weather, road closures, unexpected surges in volume, mechanical breakdowns, etc.) to allow them to deliver packages safely and on time. As Manager-III, the candidate will be coordinating and driving execution, scoping and creating project plans, developing processes and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process changes. You will also set and drive the culture of defect reduction through continuous improvement cycles while driving accountability across multiple business units in order to deliver large scale high visibility/ impact projects.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify process improvement opportunities and work directly with internal customers and partner teams to craft and deliver scalable solutions
- Ensure seamless operational execution and provide guidance to the team on streamlining processes through benchmarking with other geos and by defining new framework catering to the nuances of the geography
- Hires, coaches effectively and provides feedback to direct reports to help develop talent and support career development
- Lead standardization, centralization and work closely with relevant stakeholder teams to bring in right mechanisms and drive improvements in metrics
- Set measurable milestones for programs as well as continuous goal setting for ongoing programs
- Collect and analyze data to drive decisions and provide business insights
A day in the life
You’ll be the key link between a number of teams, including Sites, ATS, Procurement, TOM, LP, Planning. That means you’ll be close to the day-to-day transportation operations in MX and BR, but also contribute to new ways to improve processes and holding stakeholders accountable. A typical day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into metrics, and looking ahead to request levers for future operational issues. You’ll be a source of leadership and support your team to be the best managers they can be.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5+ years of team management experience
- 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Bachelors Degree
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Japanese
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
