Key job responsibilities
This London based team owns the image and video processing pipelines that process content for Generative AI training, Knowledge grounding and Display purposes.

You will support multiple customers who build large multimodal models and launch experiences requiring multimodal content.

Your team owns the first layer of content filtering against sensitivity and quality guard rails. You operate at internet scale, high throughput and low latency to provide trending and evergreen content to our customers.

You manage team and individual engineers performance, stay on top of team welfare and grow your engineers towards their career goals.

A day in the life
You work closely with the upstream data providers, dependencies and customers to set a forward looking architectural vision that enables us to deliver high quality content delighting our customers.

You are responsible for the software development and support operations of our technology stack. You observe and report on key metrics to show how our customers are doing. You foster relationships with key stakeholders to innovate and raise the content quality bar for Amazon’s customers. You stay on top of team welfare and grow your engineers towards their career goals.

About the team
Multimedia Content Team processes images, video and audio crawled from Web and acquired from licensed sources. We provide processed and quality filtered multimedia content for display use on screened devices, for foundational and multimodal large language model training and for knowledge grounding.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in engineering
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience working directly within engineering teams
- Experience managing engineers
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
