AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.

Are you passionate about building new products using the latest advances in machine learning, edge compute and computer vision ? Just Walk Out /Amazon Go technology enables a new kind of store with no lines and no checkout—you just grab and go! Customers simply use a credit card to enter the store, take what they want from our selection of products and walk out!

In the JWO Infrastructure org, we build frameworks and services for building and deploying algorithmic services to multiple inference targets. We own services to give visibility into the real-time operation of the store and has JWO Tech Operations Center and engineers as their main customers. We also owns the automation of all JWO infrastructure bringup and availability of in-store devices. This effort needs a strong technical leader, who can work with multiple stakeholder teams across engineering, research, and operations, and effective manage multiple functions and teams.

Key job responsibilities
As a senior manager of Software Development, you will lead multiple teams builders to define, drive and execute on Just Walk Out's vision. You will invent and ship software that directly impacts our end customer experience. You'll develop your team of highly motivated and talented builders who can collaborate with product managers, research managers, researchers, technical specialists, and principals across the company.


This role will lead the JWO Infrastructure organization. Their primary responsibilities include:
1. Setting the org priorities while balancing customer, stakeholder and business needs
2. Lead the team technically to set roadmap for the org.
3. Drive deep dives and MBRs for L8 and L10 audience
4. Contribute to OP1 planning for AI and Edge org

You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that, frankly, haven’t been solved at scale before - anywhere. You will encounter challenging, novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
