Software Engineer, Sponsored Products - Bidding
DESCRIPTION
Amazon's Sponsored Products advertising business is one of the fastest growing areas in the company. Have you ever wondered what happens behind that “Sponsored” label you see in search results on Amazon? Hint: it involves a lot of interesting tech delivered by a great team.
The Sponsored Products Bidding team is responsible for the real time bidding system for Sponsored Products. We model multiple scenarios based on the opportunity of an ad to receive a click and dynamically adjust the bids at the request level. Bidding service requires operating with low latency, while running multiple machine learning models in real time.
As an SDE in the Sponsored Products Bidding team, you will be responsible for developing the machine learning infrastructure and advanced reinforcement learning models to ensure strong performance on Sponsored Products campaigns. Furthermore, an SDE needs to design and implement systems to support multiple online experiments for bidding and improve the velocity of experimentation.
This role needs to continue raising the bar in operational excellence, including pro-actively identifying and delivering improvements and dealing with live site issues effectively with clarity in communication.
The business and technical challenges are significant. Fortunately, we have a broad mandate to experiment and innovate, and a seemingly endless range of new opportunities to build a big, sustainable business that helps Amazon continuously delight our customers.
We're looking for curious and customer-obsessed software engineers who can help us take our products to the next level. We embrace leaders with a startup mentality — those who seek a disruptive yet clear mission and purpose, have an unambiguous owner's mindset, and are relentlessly obsessed with delivering amazing products.
You'll own significant products and features from design through launch, and will work with product managers, scientists and other engineers to make your efforts successful. If this sounds like your sort of challenge, come and join our team.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
